Facial cleansers are one of the most important parts of your beauty routine. A clean face is the best base for your foundation.
I've tried several different cleansers, some of them department store brands and some of them you can find in the pharmacy.
Nude Skincare Cleansing Facial Oil, AUD$50.00/100ml (a leader in natural skincare Nude's cleansing oil is a great cleanser which doesn't strip you of your natural oils so you don't get that tight, stretched feeling. It's a little pricier, but the oil does go a long way)
Clinique Liquid Facial Soap, AUD$29.00/100ml (one of the earliest facial cleansers I used as a teen, this soap comes in several 'strengths' to suit your skin type. It's part of the 3 step system but I always felt using it with the toner made my skin really dry. I stopped using this eventually as I felt it was a little too strong for me despite trying the gentler soap. This cleanser is good if you don't have sensitive skin.)
La Roche-Posay Toleriane Purifying Foaming Cream, AUD$30.00/125ml (La Roche-Posay is one of my favourite skincare brands and is popular through pharmacies in Europe. This cleanser despite being a foaming cream, is very gently on your skin. Fragrance, alcohol and soap free, is suitable for sensitive skin)
Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, (available in pharmacies, this cleanser is one of my all-time favourites. Super gentle, this cleanser was recommended to me by my dermatologist and cleans your face without stripping it of your natural oils)
Shu Uemura Fresh Pore Clarifying Gentle Cleansing Oil, AUD$110.00/450ml (this is the cleanser I'm using at the moment and I absolutely love it! Leaves your skin feeling super clean as well as amazingly soft. Cleansing oils draw excess sebum from your pores without leaving you with a tight feeling. This might seem a little pricey at $110 but considering how much you get in a 450ml it is definitely well worth it. Instructions advise 4 pumps of this stuff but I use only one)
